The Social Democratic Front, SDF party will stand for elections in 2018 Says Ni John Fru Ndi; the party’s chairman

After so much controversy surrounding “the participation of SDF ” in the 2018 elections, the party has finally cleared the air of all rumors about “SDF boycotting the 2018 elections”.

The Social Democratic Front (SDF) has declared its intention to run for the different elections that will be held this 2018.

This highly anticipated announcement was made on Friday the 13th of January, 2018 by the party’s Chairman Ni John Fru Ndi during the National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting which took place at the residence of the chairman of the Social Democratic Party:Ni John Fru Ndi at the Ntarikon Neighborhood in Bamenda.

During the meeting, the outspoken party chairman Ni John Fru Ndi dismissed all rumors of boycotts as unfounded and declared its party’s readiness to run for the different elections scheduled to be held this year 2018.

Honourable Joseph MbahNdam;the vice president of the SDF National Executive Committee also told reporters that “SDF is ready for election in any eventuality”.

During the meeting, the SDF national executive committee members also discussed on the SDF elective convention and also set a date for the event.

Honourable Joseph MbahNdam revealed to the press that the convention has been scheduled to take place on the 22nd ,23rd and 24 of February 2018.

It should be noted that its at the elective convention that the candidates of the SDF party are elected.


Rumor has it that Ni John Fru may not be re-elected as the presidential candidate for the SDF party in this 2018 elective convention. It  should be noted that Ni John Fru Ndi has been the chairman and the presidential candidate for the SDF party for 27yrs i.e. since the party was founded in may, 1997.  The SDF militants who are desperately in need of change may not view Ni John Fru Ndi as the person who will bring that change.
