After a long period of dormancy, pioneer Ambazonia armed group in Fako; the Fako Mountain Lions has resurfaced in Muea (the heart of Fako division) with sophisticated weapons.

A dreadful video footage (which surfaced on the social media on the 15 0f May and quickly went viral) shows some members of the armed group, in broad day light) parading the highway in Muea with sophisticated weapons while taunting the Cameroon military to show up for a fight as they fired multiple deafening gunshots in the air.

Unconfirmed reports alleged that the separatist fighters attacked a pickup transporting soldiers at Muea, destroying it beyond repairs and an unconfirmed number of soldiers are feared dead.

In propaganda videos shot at the scene same day, the fighters (pictured with what is believed to be heavy weaponry and a mini rocket launcher) boasted of having taken control of the area and were ready to ‘wipe’ out any obstacle on their path. They also rained curses on the military as they fired gunshots in the air. “Where are they? Let them come!” Yelled some of them in Pidgin English.

Barely few hours after the incident in Muea, the president of Ambazonia; Dr Ikome Samuel Sako, released a statement congratulating General Sagat; head of the Fako Mountain lions and his boys, for a job well done and for showcasing some of the sophisticated weapons that the armed group now has in their Arsenal against the enemy.

In the meantime, the situation appears to have been arrested by the forces of law and order, and the separatist fighters once more are no where to be found.

However, the army and Ministry of Defense have however maintained sealed lips over the recent happening.

Muea (a neighborhood, close to the South West Regional capital, Buea) has often witnessed several violent incidents and gun battles between security forces and separatist fighters. The locality however is closest to Buea, often described as a cradle of peace in the turbulent Anglophone regions.

Our ears are still on the ground, we shall bring you more information as the story unfolds.
