Gospel Singer, Mercy Chinwo condemns viral “silhouette challenge”  & call on ladies to carry themselves with dignity (VIDEO)

Over the past week, X-rated Videos with the hashtag #silhouettechallenge have completely taken over social media under the banner of silhouette challenge.

The silhouette challenge (which has existed on TikTok for quite a long time and have already been viewed over 150 million times on the platform as of January, 30th, 2021), has recently spread across other social media platforms, and now everyone wants to give it a go.




For those of you who don’t know, the Silhouette Challenge involves ladies dancing seductively in a doorway before quickly turning into a completely black silhouette against a red background… and in the videos, the famous lyric “put your head on my shoulder” by Paul Anka and Streets by Doja Cat) constantly plays on repeat.

One of the popular silhouette challenge video is the one made by Chloe Bailey (one half of the chart-topping R&B sister duo Chloe X Halle) which has caused jaws to drop to the floor with her sultry purple-hued Silhouette Challenge.

Google has recorded a sudden increase in the usage of the keyword “how to do the Silhouette Challenge” as many people are eager to partake in the Silhouette challenge. Even celebrities are getting involved.

However Nigerian Gospel singer, Mercy Chinwo has condemned the viral X-rated silhouette challenge.

In a post on Instagram, the singer urged women not to follow every trend online, but instead carry themselves with dignity.

She also asked women to desist from imitating the ideals and opinions of the culture around them and be inwardly transformed by the Holy Spirit as she quotes the bible (Romans 12:2 ).

The singer wrote:

“Dear women, you don’t have to follow every trend. Carry thyself with dignity, know your worth.. this is why you are different. ”

“Let your light so shine before men so that they may see your good works (Lifestyle, character) and glorify your father in heaven.. #ISTANDAGAINSTSILHOUTTECHALLENGE.”

“Stop imitating the ideals and opinions of the culture around you, but be inwardly transformed by the Holy Spirit through a total reformation of how you think. This will empower you to discern God’s will as you live a beautiful life, satisfying and perfect in his eyes.
Romans 12:2. ”
