Even though the Paypal service is now available in most African countries, most internet entrepreneurs in Africa are still not happy.

This is because the Paypal company doesn,t permit Paypal users in Some African countries to withdraw money from their Paypal accounts to their local bank accounts.

It will surprise you to know that Paypal withdrawal is not possible in Nigeria, Ghana, Ivory Coast, Cameroon and other popular african nations.

Here is the list of African Countries where PayPal withdrawal is possible….

  • South Africa

Paypal users in South Africa can withdraw money from their Paypal accounts to their local bank accounts.

Most Paypal users in South Africa withdraw money from their Paypal accounts through First National Bank (FNB). If you don,t have a bank account, go to the nearest First National Bank and open an account. After you have opened the FNB account, log in to your Paypal South Africa account and link your FNB account to your Paypal account. Now you can withdraw money from your Paypal account. It should be noted that you can also link any local bank account to your Paypal South Africa account. So if you already have a bank account, you can link it to your Paypal South Africa account and withdraw your money.

  •    Egypt 

Paypal users in Egypt can withdraw money from their Paypal accounts to any Visa card issued in Egypt and to their US bank accounts.

  • Morocco

Paypal users in Morocco can withdraw money from their Paypal accounts to their credit, debit, or prepaid card and to their US bank accounts.

  • Algeria

Paypal users in Algeria can withdraw money from their Paypal accounts to any  Visa card issued in Algeria and to their US bank accounts.

  • Kenya

Paypal users in Kenya are permitted to withdraw money from their Paypal accounts to their M-PESA account and to their US bank account.

M-PESA is a money transfer service for PayPal and M-PESA customers, provided by TransferTo in partnership with Safaricom and PayPal.

How do I withdraw money from PayPal to my M-PESA account?

  1. After completing the registration, click Withdraw.
  2. Your available balance will be displayed. You will only be able to withdraw money up to the available USD balance shown in your PayPal account. If you hold a balance in your PayPal account in a different currency, please log in to your PayPal account at paypal.com/ke and convert the money into USD.
  3. Enter the amount you would like to withdraw from your PayPal account in USD.
  4. You will be redirected to a page showing the amount to be received in KES, the exchange rate used for the currency conversion, and the estimated transaction processing time.
  5. Confirm and complete the withdrawal of funds.

After you have confirmed the transaction, it takes between 2 hours to 3 calendar days to process a withdrawal from your PayPal account to your M-PESA account, depending on the transaction value. The estimated time will be presented to you before confirming the transaction.

  • Senegal

Paypal users in Morocco can withdraw money from their Paypal accounts to their credit, debit, or prepaid card and to their US bank accounts.

  • Malawi

Paypal users in Malawi can withdraw money from their Paypal accounts to any Visa card issued in Malawi and to their US bank accounts.

  • Mozambique
