The Amba Boys in Bamenda, made a close Attempt to Kidnap Cameroon minister of Basic Education; Yousouf Hadija
A few days ago, Cameroon minister of basic Education;Yousouf Hadija embarked on a working visit to the North West region to supervise and evaluate the kick off of the 2018/2019 academic year in the region.
It should be noted that for almost 2 yrs now, majority of the pupils in the North West region haven,t been to school and so the effective resumption of School this academic year was a paramount concern of Mme Yousouf Hadija; the Minister of Basic Education.
Mme Yousouf Hadija arrive Bamenda on Sunday the 29th of September, 2018 (one day before the kick off of the 2018/2019 academic year). She was lodged at Ayaba Hotel.
Against the expectation, of the minister of basic education, on the 3rd of September, 2018, school resumption in the North West region was marred by Ghost Town couple with the gun attacks in the region. Owing to the aforementioned fact, many parents didn,t allow their children to go to school. Nevertheless the minister of basic education still proceeded to launch the 2018/2019 academic year at Upstation, Bamenda and visited many primary schools in the region (however many schools had just a handful of students).
On Tuesday, the 4th of September ( after the trigger happy Amba boys) received intelligence information that a big fish was in Town and was lodging at Ayaba Hotel, they decided to attack the hotel.
We were reliably informed by one of our insiders that the attack was a premeditated attack. According to our informant, the Amba Boys who attacked the hotel, had two objectives in mind i.e. to kidnap or kill the minister. However the brave and professional Cameroon security forces outsmarted the Amba boys…they were repelled within a short space of time and everything went back to normal.
Nevertheless the tragic incident didn,t scare the minister of basic Education from accomplishing her mission in the region.
However even though the Amba Boys didn,t succeed to kidnap or kill the Cameroon minister of basic Education, many Cameroonians believe that the daring attack has sent a powerful message to Samuel Eto,o and the Minister of secondary Education; Madam Nalova Lyonga who had earlier announced that she and Samuel Eto’o will be coming to the North West and South region to Campaign for the effective resumption of schools in the 2018/2019 academic year.
After this tragic incident, Mrs Nalova Lyonga (AKA the iron lady) may be willing to embark on the journey but the $64,000 question still remains….WILL SAMUEL ETO’O BE WILLING TO EMBARK ON A DEADLY MISSION WHOSE OBJECTIVE MIGHT NOT BE ACHIEVED ????
