Today, Monday, 15th of February (less than 24 hours after the cancellation of Naira Marley’s show in Limbe), pioneer Cameroonian Afropop artist; Mel B Akwen (AKA La Pichichi) has taken to his twitter page to mock Naira Marley over the cancellation of his show in Limbe and labels him an atside weed upcoming artist.

In the tweet (published at about 1 PM), Mel B also congratulated KO-C for organizing a very successful show in Kumba adding that KO-C has proven that Cameroonian artists can also pull crowds.

They did not only do it but did it on same…she added.

Mel B wrote…

Na @KOCofficiel last teach that love wey that atside weed upcoming artist promise for cam teach we?..Hahahah..Say 237 artists can’t do it?…Psuip..They did not only do it but did it on same.

Mel B’s tweet attracted lots of insults from the marlians who rained tons of insults on Mel B majority of which where centered around the fact that she has bleached her skin.

Using the hash tag #NjangsaMelB, the angry Malians shared before and after photos which clearly shows how Mel B has transformed from a typical black girl to a white woman; which some malians described as the Njangsa Mel B. Some said she can’t think proper because Njangsa has fried her brain.

Its no news that Mel B has bleached her skin. In fact she is even the brand Ambassador of Carimo Cosmetics; a Cameroonian skincare brand specialized in the production of top quality skin bleaching products.

However the insults did not only end at the skin bleaching level.

A diehard fan of Naira Marley, Fru Kingley defended him saying that the weed up coming artist is greater than the whole 237 industry. Another Marlian, cursed Mel B saying she will remain an upcoming artist all her life.

Nevertheless despite the tons of insults, Mel B Akwen did not put her tails in between her legs, she fired back at the Malians saying I don tok,go jump inside mungo..

It should be noted that Naira Marley’s Valentines day show, was scheduled on the same “date” which KO-C’s home-coming concert was scheduled to be held in Kumba i.e. 14 February 2021.

“The Homecoming Concert” which brought together artistes such as Tzy Panchak, Kameni, Blaise B, Big G Baba, Mic Monsta etc… aimed at bringing the population of Kumba together to preach peace through their songs with hopes to put smiles on the faces of the population who have been braving several challenges as a result of the socio political situation in the region which has taken its toll on the city.

Many music business guru are of the opinion that the authorities may have cancelled Naira Marley’s show to prevent it from stealing the spotlight given the fact that majority of the Marlians in Cameroon are in Kumba.

Performing before a handful of people would have been an experience that would have demotivated any anglophone Cameroonian artist from coming up with a similar project in future hence Naira Marley’s show had to be cancelled to give KO-C’s show a center stage.

Our ears are still on the ground. we shall bring you more information as the story unfolds.
