On Thursday, 28th of October, 2020, Tapang Ivo, published a post on his Rebel TV (ABN TV) Facbook platform, in which he announced that he has ordered 6 Anglophone Cameroonian artist residing in the French speaking regions, to return to ground zero and start recording their songs inside the camps of the Amba boys adding that anybody who has information about their whereabouts should immediately notify the nearest Amba boys.

He wrote…

The following neighbouring Cameroun musicians have been ordered to appear and permanently “sing” inside Amba boys camps.

1. Stanley Enow.
2. Magasco.
3. Ambe.
4. Mr. Leo.
5. Tzy Panchak.
6. To be continued.

Anyone know spots their whereabouts should immediately alert the nearest Amba boys. They will make “peace” and sing inside Amba boys camps and tell us if Ambazonia is truly Cameroun and why.

In a subsequent Facebook post, Tapang Ivo wrote again,

Just one Cameroun musician will be enough to set an example for the rest. Just one.

However after he made the above statements, he faced a strong backlash from many Anglophone Cameroonians; who warned him saying should anything bad happen to the aforementioned Anglophone artists, he will be held responsible.

Following the huge backlash, (less than 24 hours after he made the announcements) he retracted his statement and apologized to the artists (but remain unapologetic to Stanley Enow whom he labelled as a threat to the Ambazonia struggle).

He wrote…

I apologize!

Dear Citizens,

It has been brought to my attention that my statement—calling for the arrest—of some named artists in neighboring Cameroun has been sweeping. Truly, I did not do in-depth findings to separate who is whom in my quest to draw attention to the real legitimate concerns about Ambazonia.

1. Not all artists/artistes are involved in the fight against “Anglophones” legitimate concerns. I apologize to TZY Panchak, Magasco, Blais B, and others who have recorded sound tracks that protect “Anglohones” and their legitimate heritage—without sounding divisive.

2. If there is one, and only one person I have separated from the list of all I have apologized to. He is Stanley Enow. His callous statements about Ambazonia’s non-existence, and that Cameroon remains one and indivisible with its “Northwest and Southwest” regions, makes him a threat to the Ambazonian people and their legitimate concerns.

Again, let no genuine brother or sister who sings for Ambazonia take me to the abattoir. I apologize. I know the pressure most musicians go through on the ground. I love and will promote your works. As for Stanley Enow, he remains blacklisted in Ambazonia.

Many Anglophone Cameroonians were of the opinion that owing to the fact that Tapang Ivo has once served as the spokesman of the Ambazonia Defense Forces (ADF), he still has a strong ties with Amba boys in ground zero and so his statement can’t be considered as empty threats.

It is noteworthy that Tapang Ivo Tanku (residing in USA) is the number one advocate of the armed conflict in ground zero and was in regular communication with late General Ayekeh.

He is also considered as the most cunning Ambazonian activist.

Its should be recalled that at the beginning of the armed conflict, Tapang Ivo projected himself as the founder of the Red Dragons of Lebialem and was using the name of the Amba group to collect money from gullible Ambazonians; an act which provoked Field Marshal of Lebialem to record a disclaimer video; in which he announced that he has no ties with Tapang Ivo and has never received a franc from him since he started collecting money from the people of Ambazonia using the name of the Red Dragons.

I WANT DISGRACE TAPANG IVO, I NO GO DI WORK, ANOTHER PERSON DI CHOP…is one of the catchy statements uttered by Field Marshal in the video.
