Recent Heart Breaking Photo of a Child roasted alive in Batibo, Goes Viral (VIEW PHOTO)
We just learnt that a child has been roasted alive in Batibo, a village in Cameroon’s North West Region.
A heartbreaking photo circulating on the social media (today,11th of February, 2021), shows a man crying with a roasted child in his hand.
Locals have pointed accusing fingers at soldiers for razing down the house in which the kid was burnt among others.
Over the past four years now, several similar rights violations have been committed as soldiers combat separatist fighters in Cameroon’s North West and South West Regions.
As a reminder, in May, 2019, a four-month old baby (known as Baby Martha) was shot at point in Muyuka, Fako Division of the South West region of Cameroon. Till today, the 11th of February, 2021, the perpetrators of the heinous crime are still unknown.
In 2020, 13 children were roasted alive in Ngarbuh village, North-West region, in a reprisal attack aimed at punishing the population accused of harboring separatist fighters. A communique released by the Cameroon government revealed that the heinous crime was committed by a hand full of Cameroon security forces assisted by a vigilante group. However the perpetrators of the heinous crime have been brought to book.
In October, 2020, 7 children were shot dead at point blank by unknown gunmen suspected to be Ambazonia fighters.
With the conflict still ongoing, crimes of this nature are bound to occur again if concrete action are not taken to put an end to the war in the two English speaking regions of Cameroon.
