President Biya ignores #EndAnglophoneCrises Hash tag when Extending Condelences to Berieved Families of Kumba School Massacre
Yesterday, Thursday, 26th of October, 2020 (2 days after the occurrence of the Kumba school massacre), at almost 6PM, president of the republic of Cameroon; H.E Paul Biya, published a series of posts on twitter; in which he extended his heart felt condolences to the families of the victims of the Kumba Fiango School Massacre.
The head of state also revealed that he has instructed that appropriate measures should be taken to ensure that the perpetrators of the heinous crime are arrested by the forces of law and order.
To convey his message to a wide audience, the president used the hash tags following hashtags in his 3 tweets.
#Kumba
#PaulBiya
#Cameroun
#KumbaMassacre
He ignored the trending #EndAnglophoneCrises which is the most popular hashtag on Twitter related to the Anglophone crises and has been tweeted by more than 18,000 Cameroonians.
Could this be a sign of guilt…as many believe the Anglophone crises has gone out of hand because he is bent on restoring peace to the two restive English speaking regions using a military solution and not dialogue; which many people and organisations have proposed as the lasting solution to the Anglophone crisis.
Some people (like Kah Walla, Fabrice Lena etc) are of the opinion that a regime change (with an Anglophone Cameroonian as the next president) is necessary for the Anglophone crises to come to an end.
Whatever be the case, our ears are still on the ground. We shall bring you more information as the story unfolds.
