We just learnt that; Tah Jarvis Mai; an Anglophone Cameroonian journalist working with My Media Prime TV, has been arrested and detained by the forces of law and order in Douala.

Sources say Tah Jarvis was picked up by the forces of law and order today September, 22nd, 2020 at about 10 AM at Rondpoint Diedo while he was covering the ongoing anti-Biya protest .

Prior to his arrest, Tah Jarvis had taken to the social media to publish photos of himself allegedly presenting a report on the state of the Anti Biya protest and wrote “The place is calm at the moment”.

It is should be recalled that, Yesterday 21st of September, Tah Jah Mai had published a post on Facebook calling on the forces of law and order to respect the rights of Journalistss as they prepare to cover the imminent 22nd September Anti-Biya protests Nationwide using the hashtag #JournalismIsNotACrime.

However its very apparent that his plead fell on deaf ears.

Tah Jarvis is best known for his daring reports on the civil war in the South West region. He has recorded a series of documentaries, exposing the atrocities of the Cameroon security forces and the untold sufferings of the people living in ground zero.

Tah Jarvis is also the host of a political TV programme called House of Commons airing on My Media Prime TV; where he often interviews opinion leaders to get their views on the sociopolitical crisis in the two English speaking regions of Cameroon.

Tah Jarvis is also a regular panelist of Prime Hour; another political TV programme airing on My Media Prime (hosted by Kum Leonard); where he has been very vocal (outspoken) about the Anglophone crisis.

Many Cameroonians are of the opinion that his portfolio might have made him a target for the forces of law and order and owing to the fact that he is best known for giving undiluted reports to the masses.

Its noteworthy that Tah Javis is the ex-boss of the assassinated Anglophone Cameroonian pidgin newscaster; Samuel Wazizi as he has served as the Manager of Chillen TV Buea before moving to My Media Prime TV Douala.

Our ears are still on the ground. We shall bring you more information as the story unfolds.
