Today Wednesday, October 1st, 2020, is being commemorated in Southern Cameroon as independence day by the Separatists.

While Ghost Town is being observed by many Cameroonians in the urban areas of Southern Cameroon in honor of the independence day, some daring Amba Generals in the hinterlands have gone as far as organizing march pass to celebrate the 4th anniversary of the independence of Ambazonia.

A video footage has just surfaced on the social media which shows, Mayor General Ayekeh leading a score of Amba boys and hundreds of civilians in a march pass convened in Alou, Lebialem.

In the 4 minutes video footage, General Ayekeh (supreme commander of the Gorilla fighters of Alou) could be seen holding an Ambazonia flag with the name of his Amba group boldly written on it.

Seconds later Commander bright (second in command to General Ayekeh) gave a series of military commands to the score of Amba boys armed with sophisticated weapons.

After the parade, march pass began (without any chanting of the Amba Anthem). General Ayekeh led the march pass holding an Amba flag, followed by the Gorilla fighters of Alou, who could be heard chanting a popular military cadence sung by Amba boys in the previous independence day march pass.

Hundreds of civilians (majority of whom are women) also took part in the march pass convened by General Ayekeh, though many could be seen marching with plants which they used to shield their faces while matching behind the scores of Amba boys.

Its note worthy that this is the 4th time that the independence of Ambazonia is being commemorated in a grand style in Lebialem Division and the first time is Alou, Sub division.

It should be recalled that the 3rd edition of the independence day celebration in Lebialem was presided over by the supreme commander of the Red Dragons of Lebialem; Field Marshal, who is yet to release a video.

As a reminder, Major General Ayekeh was the second in command of the Red Dragons of Lebialem. He left the Red Dragons in 2019.

In April, 2019, a video footage emerged on the social media which shows the former second in command of the Red Dragons of Lebialem; Commander Ayekeh, announcing that he is no longer a member of the Red Dragons of Lebialem led by Field Marshal.

Ayekeh left the Red Dragons with dozens of fighters loyal to him, to establish his own self defense group in Alou, which he labelled “the Gorilla fighters of Alou” and elevated his rank to a General and became known as General Ayekeh.

However Ayekeh revealed that he didn’t leave the Red Dragons out of bad fate or because he was maltreated/imprisoned by Field Marshal like the ADF spokesman; Tapang Ivo had announced during a Live Facebook show.

General Ayekeh said the main reason why he decided to leave the Red Dragons, is because the governing system of the Red Dragons is very Poor.

General Ayekeh added that the supreme commander of the Red Dragons; Field Marshal, doesn’t listen to his advise even though he knows more about military tactics than him.

General Ayekeh said he advised Field Marshal to expand the territory under the control of the Red Dragons but Field Marshal refused.

Lebialem division is made up of 3 subdivisions namely; Fontem(Lebang), Alou and Wabane.

According to Ayekeh, Field Marshal is only concentrating on one division (Fontem) while the Ambazonian people in the other two divisions are suffering…many have escaped to the bushes.

He added that Field marshal says he is in control of the whole of Lebialem but he has never engaged in battle with Laripoblic terrorists in Alou and Wabani.

Since the Ambazonia war is not Field Marshal’s war, i have decided to split from the Red Dragons to protect the other sub divisions of Lebialem. I must not live in one camp with Field Marshal or sleep in one bed with him in order to liberate Ambazonia said General Ayekeh.

General Ayekeh also disclosed that another reason which caused him to leave the Red Dragons, is because Field Marshal accused him of being a traitor.

I did not abandon my job to become a traitor, i abandoned my job to liberate Ambazonia said General Ayekeh.

For those of you who don’t know, General Ayekeh was a well trained Cameroun BIR Commando who defected to join the Red Dragons of Lebialem; where he was made the second in command to field marshal due to his military expertise.

To cut a long story short, as of October 1st, 2020, the relationship between Major General Ayekeh and his former boss; Field Marshal is like that of a cat and rat as the two fierce Generals have vowed to eliminate each other and their boys.

In a recent video footage which has gone viral on the social media, General Ayekeh, labelled Field Marshal a coward and added that the only thing he knows how to do best, is running in forest and inflicting wounds on himself in an attempt to aviod confrontation with the Cameroon security forces.

In the video footage, General Ayekeh also made mockery of a locally made weapon alleging that the weapon was confiscated from a Red Dragon fighter who was sent to assassinate him and his boys.

He said Ambazonians are sending money to Field Marshal for him to produce a weapon which can’t kill a target at a 30m range.

In response to the video, Field Marshal vowed to eliminate General Ayekeh and wipe out his boys adding that he has tolerated his excesses for so long.

As a reminder, the separatist leaders, symbolically proclaimed the independence of Ambazonia on the 1st of October, 2017 after the September 22, 2017 massive protest in which violence left a score of protesters dead and many injured.

Following the September, 22nd protest, On 1 October,2017 tens of thousands of people began a peaceful march (holding a plant symbolizing peace and chanting “no violence”) to proclaim the independence of Ambazonia (the name given by secessionists to their hypothetical state). In Bamenda, Buea and across dozens of towns and communities, people marched and hoisted Ambazonian flags at intersections and atop the residences of traditional chiefs as well as onto a police station and a gendarmerie post. Independence was symbolically proclaimed in chiefs’ compounds.

Defense and security forces responded with disproportionate force, leading to at least 40 deaths and over 100 injured protesters between 28 September and 2 October. This death toll is the result of live ammunition and excessive use of tear gas, including in homes and against the faithful as they left church. Defence and security forces arrested hundreds of people without warrant, including in their homes. They made use of torture and inhuman and degrading treatment.

Owing to the above facts, the crisis in Southern Cameroon metamorphosed from a sociopolitical crisis to an armed conflict; which has now taken more than 3000 lives and displaced thousands of people as of October, 1st, 2020.
