There will like be a protest match in Buea, today Friday, 14th of August, 2020.

A close friend of mine (residing in Limbe) has just informed me that he was woken up from sleep this morning by a phone call from a friend; who tried to convince him to come to the Limbe community field so that they can both go to Buea and protest. He added that he will be given 5000frs if he participate in the protest in Buea but didn’t disclose the objective of the protest.

However the friend of mine said he can’t go to Buea because his ID card has expired. However the guy told him not to worry…that when he comes to the Limbe community field, they will be taken to Buea by the military.

Even though the objective of the imminent protest in Buea is unknown, one can easily guess that the Cameroon government wants the youths to protest against the gruesome murder of a lady in Muyuka in order to draw the attention of Human right organisation; whom they said had always given a blind eye to the atrocities committed by the separatist fighters in the two English speaking regions of Cameroon.

It should be noted that this is the second time within a space of 1 month, that Youths of Limbe are being bribed to take part in a protest.

As a reminder, on July 17th 2020, a group of youths (from Mevio village in Limbe in the Fako Division, South West region of Cameroon) took to the streets of Limbe to protest against what they qualified as a “top mafia” in the sale of a public structure.

They protested for over an hour in front of the Limbe district medical officer’s building, chanting songs like “we don’t want private a business here”.

They will later move to the office of the SDO for Fako, where they tabled a memorandum to his 1st assistant.

However after the street protest, the Youths of Mevio village in Limbe, later confessed that they were paid and used to stage a the public protest demonstration against their traditional ruler, chief Henry Fonderson.

In a reconciliatory meeting in Limbe, the Youth said they were manipulated through a certain Ekema Roland Ngale who offered 5000frs each, for a protest against chief Fondersons’ plan to set up a private media organ in a public structure.

One of the gullible youth who took part in the protest said…

“We did not really understand what the protest was about, we were told that it was a YCPDM rally…now that we understand the manipulation, we plead on the chief to forgive us” one of the youth said.”

Reacting after their backslash, Chief Fonderson Henry said he no longer had grudges against them but promised to expose the person he called “a top politicians” who manipulated them.
