After your Youtube channel has been reviewed and approved for monetization, ADS will start appearing on YouTube videos as seen in the screenshot below.
At this moment, your Youtube channel will start generating money when people watch your Youtube videos and interact with the Google Adsense ads.
The amount of money you’ve earned, will be shown in your Google Adsense account balance.
From the screenshot below, you can see that i earned €5.05.
However you are not yet done!
There’s one last thing you need to do, to be able to receive your first Youtube paycheck in Cameroon and start enjoying Youtube money.
Before you can receive your first Youtube paycheck as a Cameroonian Youtuber or blogger, you will need to verify your Google Adsense account.
Google Adsense account verification is all about confirming the payment address of Google Adsense account owners.
Simply put, before you can receive your first Google adsense payment in Cameroon, first! you will need to verify your home address so that Google can be sure that you are based in Cameroon and also to confirm that the Google Adsense account was created by a human and not a robot (software created by a hacker).
How can you verify your Google Adsense account in Cameroon???
After your Youtube channel has generated €10, Google will send you an email to inform you that you need to verify your home address and a message will appear on your AdSense account dashboard which says YOUR PAYMENTS ARE CURRENTLY ON HOLD BECAUSE YOU HAVE NOT VERIFIED YOUR ADDRESS as seen in the screenshot below.
To verify your address, a PIN mailer (PIN Verification card) will be mailed to your address in Cameroon.
The PIN verification card (envelope) has a 6 digit PIN code that you will enter in AdSense to verify your address.
To request for your pin, all you need is a valid address where the pin can be shipped to you.
To request for a PIN to be mailed to you, click on Action.
Simply put, before you can request for a Personal Identification Number (PIN) to be sent to you, you need to check the address in your Adsense account to make sure that everything is OK. If not, you will not receive your Google Adsense PIN.
It usually takes about 20 business days for the PIN verification card to arrive Cameroon.
When you receive your Google Adsense PIN verification card (which comes in an envelope), you will see a 6 digit pin code on it as seen in the screenshot below. You will need to enter that PIN code in your Adsense account to verify your address.
Like i mentioned earlier, completing address (PIN) verification in AdSense is required for your channel to be monetize and for you to receive payments.
If you do not verify your address 4 months after you reached the verification threshold, monetization (including Channel Memberships, Super Chat, etc.) will be disabled.
Monetization will be enabled once you verify your address.
I haven’t received my Google Adsense account Verification PIN in Cameroon after 20 business days???
Like i mentioned earlier, the PIN verification card or envelope (which contains your Google Adsense PIN code) takes 3 weeks to arrive Cameroon.
According to Google, it can take 1-4 weeks depending on your location.
To make sure it has enough time to reach you, you’ll need to wait for 20 business days after your last PIN was mailed (before requesting a replacement).
If after 20 business days, you still haven’t received your PIN, or it’s been lost, you can request a replacement PIN.
Before you request a replacement PIN.
Check again, to make sure your account information including your payment address is correct. If needed, you can change your payment address. In addition, we recommend you follow these tips:
A) Use the same wording across all of your payment address fields.
B) Confirm your address is recognized by your local post office.
C) Verify with your mail service provider or post office that your mail is not being forwarded to another address.
The main reason why most Cameroonian Youtubers and bloggers don’t receive their PIN verification card after 20 business days, is because the payment address in their Adsense account has no P.O box number.
Most Cameroonian Youtubers and bloggers often enter an address with no P.0 Box number in their Adsense Account.
Without a P.O box number, you can’t receive a mail via the Cameroon post office (CAMPOST). It should be noted that Google Adsense PIN verification card is mailed to Cameroon via CAMPOST (Cameroon Post office).
For those of you who don’t know, P.O boxes (Post Office Box) are small wooden boxes with unique numbers found in a Post Office, where mails (letters & packages) belonging to various people, organisations and institutions are kept till they are collected by their owners.
To receive your Adsense PIN verification card (envelope), you will need to go to your local post office and get a P.O Box (which will be assigned a specific number known as P.0 box number).
After you have obtained a P.O box from a post office, edit the payment address in your Adsense account to include a P.O box number in your Address.
After you have done that, you will be able to receive your Google Adsense PIN verification card within 20 business days with no issues.
If you can’t afford a personal P.O box (which cost 50,000frs per year) to receive your Adsense PIN verification card in Cameroon, you can use another person’s P.O box or that of an Organisation/institution in Cameroon, to receive your PIN verification card.
For example most churches, schools and NGO’s in Cameroon have a P.O box.
For example, the P.0 box of the University of Buea is P.O. Box 63.
The students and staffs of the University of Buea can use the University of Buea P.O Box to receive mails.
I know many Cameroonian Youtubers and bloggers who have received their Google Adsense PIN verification card using the address of University of Buea (P.O Box).
To receive your Google Adsense PIN via the University of Buea P.O Box 63, you just need to enter your name (as found in your National ID card) and the P.O Box in line 2. After you have entered the P.O box number, click on save.
Take a look at the screenshot below and emulate my example.
After you have done that, you can now request for a new Adsense PIN. Your Google Adsense PIN verification card will arrive at UB P.O box after 20 business days.
After your Adsense PIN Card has arrived, the UB post master will call you to inform you that your Google Adsense PIN verification card has arrived. You can now go to UB to pick up your Adsense PIN (which comes in a Google Adsense branded envelope similar to the one seen in the picture below).

I was able to receive my Adsense PIN card using my brother’s P.O Box.
If you need an address to receive your Google Adsense verification PIN, you can contact me via Whatsapp and i will give you a complete address (with P.O box number) which you can use to receive your Google Adsense PIN without any issue. However this option will cost you a little token.
I will receive your Google Adsense PIN and send you the 6 digits code via Whatsapp or SMS, if you can’t collect the physical card.
Google Adsense Verification PIN
Once you receive the PIN code. Login to your Adsense Account and enter it, to verify your address.
Congratulation! you are now ready to receive your first Youtube Paycheck in Cameroon.
Note:You’ll have four months from the date your first PIN is generated to enter it in your account. If you haven’t entered it after four months, AdSense will stop showing ads on your videos (and your pages & posts in the case of the bloggers).
Other Youtube monetization features (like Channel Memberships, Super Chat, etc.) will also be disabled.
Monetization will be enabled once you verify your address.
Somebody may likely want to ask: why will Google want to send PIN physically to Adsense account owners (via post office) when there are simple and extremely fast ways to send the pin (like via email & SMS)?
Like i mentioned earlier, Google wants to be sure that you are based in Cameroon and also to confirm that the Google Adsense account was created by a human and not a robot (software created by a hacker).
Google Adsense is the best online advertising network through which millions of internet entrepreneurs around the world, expose their business to millions internet users around the world.
Google has to be very strict when accepting Youtubers and bloggers in its Adsense advertisement network to ensure that Adsense accounts are created by legal entities who will not try to game the system, defraud and cause Advertisers lose money (not get a return on their investment) hence PIN verification is mandatory to keep the system safe from fraudsters and hackers.
How to Request a replacement PIN
If you’ve not received your PIN after four weeks, you’ll need to request a new one.
- Sign in to your AdSense account.
- On your AdSense homepage, find the PIN verification card and click Verify. (You might need to click View more to reveal the card.)
- Click Resend PIN.
After you have done that, Google will mail a new PIN to your new payment address.
To find the date when you will be able to request a new PIN, log in to your account and view the Account Settings page under the Home tab.
Do remember: All the sent pins are duplicate of the first pin sent out to you. So even if you have received the first pin after requesting a new one, you can use it to verify your address.
Please take note.
If you enter a wrong PIN 3 times, your Google Adsense account will be blocked permanently by Google. AdSense pin is unique for every AdSense account i.e. you can’t use another Youtuber or blogger’s PIN to verify your Google Adsense account.
If the PIN does not arrive after you’ve made 3 requests (30 days apart each) Google will give you an alternative way of verifying your address. You will be allowed to verify your address without a Pin.
How to Verify your Adsense account without a pin
According to AdSense Help, there are at max 3 attempts a user gets to receive AdSense verification PIN. If you’ve requested your maximum of 3 PINs and haven’t received any of them within four weeks of your last PIN request, Then you have the option to verify your account by uploading a Government-issued ID card.
To verify your address without a PIN, you will be asked to upload a photo of (either) your government-issued National ID, Passport, Driver’s Licence.
Take a clear snapshot of one of the documents listed above and upload it on the Google Adsense verification page.
Do remember, the ID card that you would be using needs to have your address mentioned which should be the same as what you have mentioned when applying for AdSense account.
Here is how to go about it?
- Login to Google Adsense account
- Click on action if you have the notification in red in your account as seen on the screen shot.
iii. Fill in all details correctly and accurate.
- Select Documentation instead of Pin
- Upload your documents. Preferred format is in PDF.
- Submit and wait for the reply from the Adsense team.
After you have done that, Google Adsense team will send you an email to inform you that you have successfully verified your Google Adsense account (this typically takes less than 5 minutes).
Please take note that you will only be given the option to verify your Google Adsense account in Cameroon without PIN only after you have submitted 3 PIN requests (within 3 months) but didn’t receive your PIN.
If you do not verify your address within 4 months using any of the two methods mentioned above, monetization (including Channel Memberships, Super Chat, etc.) will be disabled.
Monetization will be enabled once you verify your address.
How to Pick up your First Youtube Paycheck from a Bank in Cameroon
After the amount of money in your Adsense account balance has reached €70.00 (Google Adsense Payment threshold), Google will send you a paycheck.
Payment is issued by Google on the 21st of the following month.
For example if your Youtube channel generates €70.00 this month (October, 2020), on the 21st of November, 2020, you will receive a Paycheck from Google and if your Youtube channel generates €70.00 in the month of November, you will receive a Youtube Paycheck on the 21st of December.
Google Adsense payments are issued on the 21st… unlike the salary from our day jobs which are paid on the 1st of every month.
So if you have reached the €70.00 minimum payment threshold, you will receive a Paycheck.
From the screenshot below, you can see that, the amount of money in my Google Adsense account hasn’t reached €70.00. So Google will not send me a Paycheck…until i have earned €70.00.
How Cameroonian Youtubers get paid by Google.
Google pays Youtubers and bloggers in Cameroon using 3 payment methods which include;
- Western Union Quick Cash
- Wire Transfer
- Cheque
You can either choose to receive your Youtube paycheck via one of the 3 payment methods listed above.
Please take note that you will only be allowed to choose a payment method after you have reached the Google Adsense payment threshold (after you must have earn at least €70.00)
Most Cameroonian Youtubers receive their monthly Google Adsense earnings via Western Union and Wire Transfer.
How to Receive your Youtube paycheck in Cameroon through Western Union.
Like i mentioned earlier, after the amount of money in your Adsense account has reached €70.00 (Google Adsense Payment threshold), Google will send you a paycheck on the 21st of the following month.
On the payday (21st) at about 12 PM, Google will send you an email to inform you that they have sent your Youtube paycheck via western union.
When you receive the email, just go to bank (which offers Western Union).
You will need the following documents to pick up cash.
- Original Copy of your National ID (Passport or Driver’s licence)
- 1 photocopy of your National ID (Passport or Driver’s licence)
- 1 copy of your Google Adsense Payment Receipt
When you get to a bank to collect your Youtube paycheck, you will be asked to provide the following information.
- NAME OF SENDER: GOOGLE IRELAND LTD
- ADDRESS OF SENDER: IRELAND
- MONEY TRANSFER CONTROL NUMBER (MTCN): you can find the MTCN of the transaction from your Google Adsense Payment receipt.
- AMOUNT: Get the amount from your Google Adsense Payment receipt.
- NAME of RECEIVER:
- ADDRESS of RECEIVER:
- PHONE NUMBER of RECEIVER :
- RELATIONSHIP WITH SENDER: Business Relationship
- PURPOSE : Payment for a service (Google Adsense wage)
- OCCUPATION OF RECEIVER: Youtuber
- TEST QUESTION: BILLING ID
- ANSWER: enter your Google Adsense Billing ID ( found on your Google Adsense Payment receipt)
- SIGN THREE TIMES HERE
Most Banks in Cameroon will ask you to write the above information on the photocopy of your ID.
After you have written the above information on the photocopy of your ID, present the photocopy of your ID and the original copy of your ID to a teller and get paid.
BAD NEWS!
A few months ago, Google announced that as from the 10th of August 2020, Youtubers and bloggers will no longer be able to select Western Union as a new form of payment and recommend that publishers currently using Western Union, should switch to another available payment method before payments through Western Union stop in early 2021.
- How to Receive your Youtube paycheck in Cameroon through Wire Transfer to your Bank account.
The best way to receive your Google Adsense Paycheck in Cameroon as a Youtuber or blogger is through the Wire Transfer payment method.
With the Wire transfer payment method, your Paycheck will be sent to your bank account (on the 21st).
According to Google, funds usually take about 3 business days to arrive in your bank account.
I often receive my Google Adsense payment in Cameroon via Wire Transfer and it usually takes about 2 business days “maximum”, for my Adsense fund to be deposited in my account.
With some banks in Cameroon, it may take 24 hours (it depends on the efficiency of the Bank)
As soon as funds is deposited in to your bank account, you will receive a bank alert confirming that your Adsense fund is now available in your bank account. You can now go to your bank’s ATM machine and withdraw the money and start enjoying Youtube money.
If you already have a bank account, you can link it with your Google Adsense account and start receiving your Google Adsense payments via Wire Transfer.
If you don’t have a bank account, you will need to open a bank account. You can contact me on WhatsApp and i will tell you how Youtubers and bloggers in Cameroon can open a bank account.
- CHEQUE
The third option which a Cameroonian Youtuber or blogger can use to receive Adsense payment in Cameroon is Cheque.
This is not a good payment option to choose due to the sluggish and currupt postal service in Cameroon.
If you choose this Google Adsense payment option, a check will be mailed to you via the Cameroon post office, in the same way you received your Google Adsense verification PIN.
Just like your verification PIN, it will take about 20 business day for the Check to arrive Cameroon.
If the check is not stolen by the CAMPOST agents, you will need to carry the check to a bank for clearing.
For a bank to clear your CHECK, you will need to open a bank account with them and wait for about 3 months for them to clear the check and deposit the money.
It should be noted that after they have cleared the check, you will need to pay them for their service.
Let’s take for example that you received a check of €70.00 (47,000frs CFA) from Google, how much will you be left with after cashing the check???
This is not a good option to receive Google Adsense payment in Cameroon. I won’t advice any Cameroonian Youtuber or blogger to choose this method.
Best Payment Method to Receive Google Adsense Paychecks in Cameroon.
The best Google payment method to receive Youtube paychecks in Cameroon, is the Wire transfer option; where Google Adsense funds are sent directly to your bank account.
In addition to the above fact, Google has announced that they will stop issuing Google Adsense payment via Western Union as from January, 2021.
To avoid any interruption in the payment of your Google Adsense earnings, you will need to open a bank account with an Adsense friendly bank in Cameroon and link your Adsense account to your bank account.

One of the documents most banks often ask for, is, proof of source of income. I will tell you the documents you need to provide as a source of income.
How to set up your form of payment
- Sign in to your AdSense account.
- Click Payments.
- Click Manage payment methods.
- Click Add payment method.
- In the “Add a payment method” section, enter your bank account information.
- If you want this to be your primary form of payment, select the Set as primary payment method checkbox.
- Click Save.Update - 2020.10.14
Like i mentioned earlier, you will only be allowed to choose a payment method after you have earned €70.00.
When your earnings reach the payment method selection threshold, you can select your form of payment.
According to Google’s Terms and Conditions, active accounts need to reach the payment threshold to qualify for a payment. Since Google don’t ever issue payments for less than this threshold, they don’t allow Youtubers and bloggers, to select a form of payment until their earnings have reached this amount.
How to change the Google Adsense Payment threshold.
lLike i mentioned earlier, the default/minimum Google adsense payment threshold is €70.00. The top Google Adsense earners in Cameroon, may find this payment threshold very small and may likely want to increase the payment threshold.
Heavy weight Cameroonian Youtubers like Emmanuel Nsanyui (of Displore) will like to get paid after their Google Adsense earnings reaches €1000.
If you set your payment threshold, to €1000, Google will only issue payment after your Youtube channel has generated atleast €1000.
Your YouTube earnings and tax liability
Earning money on YouTube is a great way to be rewarded for good, engaging content on the platform. However, please keep in mind that you may be liable to pay taxes to your country of residence on any income earned from your monetized videos on YouTube. Check with your local tax authorities for detailed guidance.
