Cameroon Government rejects report that the US has cut Military aid to Cameroon over human right abuse allegations (Video)
Over the past few days, an unfounded news have been circulating on the social media that the US has cut Military aid to Cameroon over allege human right abuse allegations.
The rumor mungers reported that the US has terminated an estimated 17 million Dollars security aid to Cameroon over human right violations.
The unfounded news/rumor was propagated by CNN and other top media outlets.
Today Thursdays the 7th of February, 2019, the US Ambassador to Cameroon; Mr Peter Henry Barlerin visited the newly appointed minister of communication; Emmanuel Rene Sadi, to congratulate him on his appointment as the new minister of communication.
Shortly after discussion with Minister Emmanuel Rene Sadi in Yaounde today the 7th of February, the US Ambassador to Cameroon; Mr Peter Henry Barlerin revealed during an interview with the CRTV that “The US has no plans to stop or reduce military cooperation with Cameroon”. He added that the US government and Cameroon enjoy excellent ties.
Mr Peter Henry Barlerin urged Cameroonians to always get information from the spokesperson of the US embassy in Yaounde.

“Relations between Cameroon and the US are excellent and long-lasting. We aim to continue with that relationship….we are not going to stop our security cooperation with Cameroon.The US government and Cameroon enjoy excellent ties.”
