After i published an article about how to create a PayPal Account in Cameroon, i received lots of Emails from many internet entrepreneurs in Cameroon who wanted to know how to withdraw money from their PayPal Cameroon accounts.
Today i will show you guys how to withdraw money from your PayPal Cameroon account.
For those of you who don,t know, the main problem faced by the PayPal Cameroon users is that, Paypal doesn’t permit the Paypal Cameroon users to withdraw money out of their Paypal accounts.
The PayPal service only makes it possible for the PayPal Cameroon users to securely pay for products and services online with their credit cards and also receive payments for their products and services online via Paypal Cameroon.

Only the PayPal users in the US, Europe,Asia and Some African countries are allowed to withdraw money from their PayPal accounts to their prepaid cards and to their US bank accounts and local bank accounts.
PayPal users in Cameroon, Nigeria and few African countries (where Paypal is available) are not allowed to withdraw money from their Paypal accounts.
It should be noted that majority of Paypal approved countries in Africa can now withdraw money from Paypal.
The $25,000 question which many Cameroonians are now asking is….WHY DID PAYPAL DEPRIVE CAMEROON, GHANA, Côte d’Ivoire AND NIGERIA OF THIS PRIVILEGE???
If you view the list of African countries where Paypal withdrawal is possible, you will see very unpopular nations like Mauritius, Trinadad and Tobago, Botswana, Malawi etc. Those are countries with very few internet entrepreneurs yet Paypal withdrawal is possible in those countries.
In my opinion, the main reason why Paypal withdrawal is not possible in Cameroon and Nigeria is due to the scamming wahala.
Paypal is trying to avoid any issue that might tarnish the reputation of the company. Just like many Cameroonians always say, “PREVENTION IS BETTER THAN CURE”.
Somebody may likely want to ask, how does the paypal service work in Cameroon or how does it help Cameroonians?.
How PayPal Works in Cameroon.
The service rendered by PayPal to the Paypal users in Cameroon is simply a credit card protection service.
Paypal makes it possible for the credit card holders in Cameroon to securely make online payments without revealing their credit card details (financial information) to the online shop owners thereby preventing our credit cards from getting hacked OR avoiding identity theft.
To buy any product or pay for a service online using Paypal, you just need to enter your paypal email and password instead of entering your credit card details (credit card number); which might be exposed to a hacker.
Paypal merely acts as a middleman between the buyer and the seller.
When you choose Paypal as your payment method, check out takes place on the Paypal official website and not on the online merchant’s website. After you have entered your Paypal email and password on the Paypal website, Paypal will collect funds from the credit card which is linked to your Paypal Cameroon account and do the payment on your behalf.
Here is what happens behind the scene…
- You create a free Paypal Cameroon account.
- Verify your Paypal Cameroon account by linking a Debit/credit card to your Paypal Cameroon account. Now your account is active.
- To pay using Paypal, you just need to visit any online shop which accepts paypal. To receive payment from an online company or an individual, you just need to provide your Paypal email address to the sender, the sender will then use your Payppal email address to transfer money in to your Paypal acount. Yes ! Just like that.
You don,t need to share your financial information with anyone in order to send or receive payments online, thanks to the Paypal service.
Even though Paypal doesn’t permit the Paypal users in Cameroon to withdraw money from their paypal Cameroon accounts, their service is still indispensable to every credit card holder in Cameroon (especially the debit card holders; whose cards are linked to their local bank accounts).
The above facts insinuates that that the Paypal service has been tailored to suit the needs of Cameroonians who just want to do online payments.
For those of us, who are online merchants, internet marketers OR internet entrepreneurs, we need to look for an indirect way to withdraw money from our Paypal Cameroon accounts.
In this article i,m going to show you guys how to bypass the withdrawal restriction put in place by PayPal.
Just like many Cameroonians always say, impossible n est pas camerounais (meaning…nothing is impossible to a Cameroonian).
This is the hard way but the only way.
How to Withdraw money from a Paypal Cameroon account.
- Paypal Cameroon Withdrawal through Payoneer US bank account.
Like i said earlier, the Paypal company, only permits the paypal users in America, Europe, Asia and Some African countries to transfer money from their paypal accounts to their Prepaid cards, US bank accounts and to their local bank accounts.
So to bypass the restriction put in place by Paypal, the Paypal Cameroon users will need to open a virtual bank account in the US and then transfer their money from Paypal to their virtual US bank accounts.After the money has been successfully transferred to their US bank accounts, they can later transfer the money from their Payoneer US bank account to their local bank accounts in Cameroon and withdraw their money via any ATM machine in Cameroon.
Payoneer.com makes it possible for people who are outside of US, to open a virtual bank account in US. Payooneer also offers a Payoneer prepaid Mastercard, which the Payoneer US bank account holders can use to withdraw money from their US bank accounts through an ATM machine in Cameroon and any part of the world.
This is how it works…
- Create a free virtual US bank account on Payoneer.com
- Link your Payoneer US bank account to your Paypal account.
- Transfer money from your Paypal Cameroon account to your payoneer US bank account
- After the money has been deposited in to your Payoneer US bank account, transfer the money from your Payoneer US bank account to your local bank account in Cameroon and use your debit card to withdraw your money from any ATM machine in Cameroon.
- Payoneer also provides a MasterCard which you can use to withdraw money from a Payoneer US bank account. So once the money has been transferred to your Payoneer virtual US bank account, you can use your Payoneer mastercard to withdraw your money (without transferring the money to a local bank account in Cameroon).
However as of now (Jan 2019) it’s no longer possible to transfer money from a Paypal Cameroon account to a payoneer US bank account.
Paypal Cameroon users are no longer permitted to link a bank account to their paypal account.
To be able to withdraw money from your PayPal Cameroon account, you will need to create a paypal account in any of the countries where paypal withdrawal is possible.

HERE COMES THE GOOD NEWS !To withdraw money from your Paypal Cameroon account, you will need to create another Paypal account in one of the countries where Paypal withdrawal is possible.
**Take note** “YOU” won,t be able to create a Paypal account in any foreign country from Cameroon (by yourself) because you will need a valid phone number to verify your foreign Paypal account (you will need to confirm your address)
Before writing this article, i tried to see if i could create an account on the US Paypal Website (from Cameroon) but i did not succeed because i wasn’t able to confirm my address. I got stucked when i was asked to enter a US phone number.
To successfully create a Paypal account in any of the Paypal withdrawal countries, you will need to ask a relation or friend who is residing in one of the Paypal withdrawal countries, to create a Paypal account for you. The friend or relation, just need to create the foreign Paypal account and you will be the one to verify the paypal account using your Payoneer US bank account.
This is how the Paypal Cameroon withdrawal process will look like…..
- Create a foreign paypal account with the help of a friend or relation who is residing in one of the Paypal withdrawal countries. There are two types of Paypal accounts which include; the Personal Paypal account (suitable for people who just want to do online payments and receive small amount of money from family members and friends) and the Business paypal account (suitable for the online merchants, internet marketers or internet entrepreneurs). Tell the person who is going to create the foreign Paypal account on your behalf, to sign up for the account which suits your needs. The person should create the Paypal account using his/her name and address and not yours because Paypal may likely ask you to verify your identity and address. If the Paypal account was created in your name, you won,t be able to verify your identity and address, since you are outside of the country.
- After the foreign Paypal account has been created for you, change the password of the account and log in to the foreign Paypal account and verify it by linking your Payoneer US bank account to the foreign paypal account. It should be noted that in Countries were Paypal withdrawal is possible, paypal users can either withdraw money from their Paypal accounts to their debit cards, Local bank accounts and to their US bank accounts.
- After your foreign Paypal account has been created and verified, transfer money from your Paypal Cameroon account to your foreign Paypal account.
- After you have transferred money to your foreign Paypal account, you can then withdraw money from your foreign Paypal account through your Payoneer US bank account.
- Once the money has been deposited in to your Payoneer US bank account, you can transfer the money from your Payoneer US bank account to your local bank account in Cameroon OR you can withdraw the money from your Payoneer US bank account using your Payoneer mastercard. Like i told you before, Payoneer issues a mastercard which you can use to withdraw money from your virtual US bank account. They will mail you the mastercard after the money in your payoneer account reaches $25.
As simple as ABC.
OPTION 2: Transfer money from your Paypal Cameroon account to another company which makes it possible for Cameroonians to withdraw money.
Like i mentioned earlier, Paypal Cameroon only makes it possible for Paypal Cameroon users to do online payments.
So another way to bypass the restriction put place by Paypal is by transferring the money in your paypal Cameroon account to another online company by making online payments.
This is what you need to do….
- Simply create a seller account in an eCommerce website; where its possible for Cameroonians to withdraw money (their earnings) and which accepts Paypal payments.
- After creating your seller account, list a product for sale or advertise a service on the eCommerce website.
- Buy your own product or pay for your own service using the money in your paypal Cameroon account.
- After you have made the payment, the money will be stored in your seller account. You can then transfer the money from your seller account to your Local bank account.
Most Cameroonians often withdraw their money from Paypal Cameroon using Fiverr.com.
For those of you who don,t know, Fiverr is a popular freelance job website where people sell their services online for various prices (mostly $5). The Fiverr online job company makes it possible for their website users (freelancers) in Cameroon to withdraw their earnings to their local bank accounts and to their Payoneer US banks accounts.
This is how the process works.
- Create a free seller account at Fiverr.com
- Advertise a service and list your price (price should be equal to the amount you wish to withdraw from your Paypal Cameroon account). You can advertise any service on Fiverr. Take note that your goal is not to look for clients but to transfer your money to Fiverr by making online payments using your Paypal Cameroon account. For example you can advise a service like web designing (500 per website or blog).
- After you have listed a service, visit the Fiverr website as a client and pay for the service you have listed on the website using your Paypal Cameroon account.
- After you have made the payment, your Fiverr seller account will be credited.
- You can now withdraw money (your earnings) from your Fiverr seller account to your local bank account or Payoneer US bank account. Yes ! just like that.
Ok those are the two indirect ways the Paypal Cameroon users can use to withdraw money from their Paypal Cameroon accounts.
We have no choice but to keep using the two withdraw methods till Paypal withdrawal becomes possible in Cameroon.
